José de la Paz con A Spanish Short Story: La doble vida de Laura, Intermediate Level #1: A captivating novel to learn, practice and enjoy Spanish (Fun Spanish Short Stories)
Do you want to read exciting stories in Spanish? Are you looking for books written in an Intermediate Spanish level?
Reading a book is an essential part of your path to Spanish fluency. It's actually one of the best methods to expand your vocabulary and absorb real Spanish. But not every book will fit. In order to really help you improve your Spanish, your Spanish book actually needs to:
- be written in a level that you can understand without feeling frustrated or confused.
- be challenging enough so you keep learning and you practice everything you already know.
- be well written (that may sound obvious, but you would be surprised to know how many mistakes are found in books...)
- be exciting; if it's boring, you will not get back to the book.
'La doble vida de Laura' es la historia de una profesora de matemáticas en Barcelona... que también es hacker. Un día, Laura recibe una misión especial. Las casas de sus estudiantes están en peligro. No hay mucho tiempo y Laura necesita toda la ayuda posible.
¿Cómo lo hará?
The story is told in the past, using mainly the Pretérito Perfecto Simple (yo canté) and the Pretérito Imperfecto (yo cantaba).
At the end of each chapter, you will find a short glossary with the main words and expressions that other students have found to be new or less familiar. Each word has a brief explanation in Spanish followed by the English translation.
This book has been "tested" on several of my own students, for whom I actually wrote the story. So I am confident that you will enjoy reading it, and while doing so, you will practice and improve your Spanish.
